Broken [poem]

She keeps her hand over her heart,
As if trying not to fall apart.
She knows she is broken,
Though no words have been spoken.

Everyone stops and stares,
They can’t help but beware.
She sinks to the ground,
Ignoring the sound.

She keeps her hand over her heart,
As if trying not to fall apart.
Pulling herself together,
As delicate as heather.

The room is hushed,
No longer so rushed.
They want to help her,
But to her it’s just a blur.

She keeps her hand over her heart,
As if trying not to fall apart.
She tries to stay strong,
Even when everything seems so wrong.
